The cassette version of TAPE has 17 songs on it. The Bandcamp version available here includes all of those, and also includes a plethora - yes, I said plethora - of bonus "source" tracks that trace the evolution of the 17 songs on TAPE as Ole and Heather traded sounds, ideas and witticisms back and forth during the making of the album. We will exhaustively document how we did what we did in the attached PDF booklet, in case you're curious to find out how these songs evolved. There is also some keen Heather & Ole art in the booklet!

Ole points out that, at 34 tracks total, the digital album of TAPE now contains more tracks than the Beatles "White Album."

about

Longtime friends and musical collaborators Ole Peterson and Heather Perkins team up on this festive new musical release. They give a hearty nod to their past, while keeping one eye firmly on the future. This might sound confusing and perhaps physically painful. It's really not. They had fun making it.

TAPE was meant to be listened to on tape, so we suggest you get the cassette too! It's pretty neat. But the digital version here on BandCamp has twice as many songs! Here's the thing - if you buy the cassette, you get BOTH!

(If you enjoy TAPE half as much as we do, we've already enjoyed it twice as much as you!)

about

Heather Perkins Portland, Oregon

Land-O-Newts! began in 1987 as a DIY cassette label, based around Heather Perkins, her living room, and a 4 track Tascam Portastudio. Back then, people made and traded cassettes of their home-made music with other home recordists, all over the world, by mail.

Heather has done hundreds of projects across all media, with all kinds of tech - but the true DIY heart of Land-O-Newts! remains.
